Training of Trainers

Under the leadership of Rev. Stephen Gualberto & Rev. Dan Balayo with active participation of  Nazarene Pastors from Cebu and VNBC students discussed Christian political engagement in the Philippines and simulated selected Bible study materials on good governance during the one-day training of trainers on Popular Education for Good Governance. It was conducted at the Visayan Nazarene Bible College (VNBC) last December 11, 2010 through the partnership of the Institute for Studies in Asian Church and Culture (ISACC) and the Church of the Nazarene-Asia Pacific.

20 participants completed the training modules and a team from the Bible college was formed to cascade the seminar to other churches. They expressed that the training has been an eye opener with regard to the political condition of the nation.

The participants, in particular, appreciated the interactive and participative process/design of the Bible Studies. The strong anchor of the training on the Word of God was also noticed by the participants.

Changes in Perception…

The participants also expressed changes in their perceptions about politics and how Christians should be engaged in it.
