Last April 18-23, 2011, three hundred sixty (360) young leaders from the Philippines and Micronesia gathered fro the Nazarene Youth Congress Pilipinas. The theme of the event is “Against the Flow.” It was held in Hidden Paradise Resort, San Fernando, Cebu. It has been a month already since the Youth Congress was held yet the resounding shout of the participants "Laban ako sa Agos" (I go against the flow) still continues today. They were challenged and inspired to follow the call of Christ and to go against the flow of this world.

The Church of the Nazarene with Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) Philippines joined a collaborative, national effort called, "4/14 Window Pilipinas" to change this troubling reality. The event brought together denominations, ministries, and community organizations from across the Philippines to take a meaningful look at the current state of Filipino Children and rally for their integral place in their society and churches.

Invest in the children of the community to bring about transformation for the nation is the purpose of the VOICE-Philippines Adopt a School program. VOICE-Philippines (Values Orientation In Classroom Education) presented an informational seminar regarding their Bible-based values curriculum for the local public schools at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary on Saturday, 19 March, hosted by the Christian Education Department.

Last February 11, on VNBC’s 47th founding anniversary celebration she had an appearance on the opening service and spoke a little bit and said, “I’m doing ok except that I’m uncomfortable with wearing diapers.” All were cracking in laughter and the speaker of the day, Rev. Evelyn Angeles grabbed the microphone and told her, “You are God’s baby because you are wearing a diaper.” And we agree. Yes, she is God’s baby because she is tenderly cared for by God even in a humanly hopeless situation. God intervened and is intervening everyday of her life.

A few months ago naz.org.ph was honored to tour the Luzon District with District Superintendent Marcelino Ochoco Jr. We visited 5 new church planting sites that have started in this last year. Many new people have come to Christ and they have many stories. One of the pastors involved is Jun Ganancial. This is an interview with him.

How do you multiply churches? We received the following email from the District Superintendent of Metro Manila. This past year the Metro Manila District led the Philippines with 500 people received into membership by profession of faith. The letter below is slightly edited for clarity.
